Reasons for the decision

The decision was taken due to the worsening
condition of the Lattice Bridge. The report and subsequent
specifications are required in order to plan the restoration works
of the bridge to ensure that there is no collapse of the abutment
whilst works are undertaken to the bridge and identify any remedial
works required to sure up the abutments. This report will inform
the methods available to carry out repair works and bring this
bridge back into good working order. It will be added to previous
structural reports of the bridge itself for a full and rounded
methodology for progressing these essential works.

Alternative options considered

The decision meets the statutory and Health
and Safety requirements for the Council and there were no
alternative options available.
