The Council is granting a replacement licence
to the Jubilee Social Club for use of the Stocton Close Car Park
following the change in the entity having been incorporated as a
limited company in line with the following terms and
conditions:
The licensee is the Guildford Jubilee Social Club incorporated and
registered in England and Wales with company number 10917177 whose
registered office is at Abbots Cottage, Abbots Way, Guildford, GU1
2XP
The new licence will be granted on similar terms to the existing
licence which is no longer legally valid, with provision for the
agreement to be terminated by either party on 6 months’
notice.
The Grantees have agreed to pay a peppercorn rental for the
licence, which in accordance with the Council’s General
Disposal Consent powers, provides the ‘best consideration
reasonably obtainable’ where the proposed term exceeds seven
(7) years].
If you have any queries, then please contact Vince Sibley who will
be happy to provide further information.

Reasons for the decision

The current licence granted to the Jubilee
Social Club (JSC) for use of the car park outside business hours,
weekday evenings and weekends (hours of use 6:15pm to 7:45am on
Monday to Friday inclusive of every week excluding bank and public
holidays and the hours of 12 Noon every Saturday to 7:45am Monday)
is no longer legally valid following the JSC having incorporated as
a limited company. A new licence is therefore to be granted to
replace the existing licence on similar terms but to contain a
break provision exercisable on 6 months’ notice by either
party.

Alternative options considered

The decision meets the policy requirements for
the Council and there were no alternative options available
