Reasons for the decision

The doors were installed in the new
development as electric but with no manual override. This is a
health and safety risk as the manual operation can only be via a
winder at 6m height. The additional budget is as part of the item
approved at the October 2025 Executive item 6 ‘TRANSFER OF
FUNDS FROM CAPITAL CONTINGENCY FUND TO MIDLETON INDUSTRIAL ESTATE
BUDGET’.

Alternative options considered

The decision meets the statutory / policy
requirements for the Council and there were no satisfactory
alternative options available
