Content
The decision is to offer a direct award to a
supplier who will deliver urgent training to teams across GBC and
WBC to enable them to assess the support needs of residents living
in high-risk blocks who might be unable to self-evacuate in the
event of a fire.
The housing team in GBC has a rollout plan to identify and mitigate
risks for residents we know or suspect to be vulnerable and
complete this before March 2026 ahead of new regulation coining
into force in April 2026 that requires landlords to have
appropriate and evidenced mitigations in place to support
evacuations for at-risk residents.
This training will address the gap in knowledge amongst housing
teams on the regulation and process relating to Person Centred Fire
Risk Assessments and PEEPs.
Reasons for the decision
The direct award is based on the experience
and reputation of the supplier who has carried out this training
across multiple local authorities and is an expert in this
field.
