Decision:
1.        To note the
comments from Overview & Scrutiny Committee members, as set out
in the Supplementary Agenda Pack.
2.        To note the
findings of maladministration and service failure in four
determinations received by Guildford Borough Council during the
2024–25 financial year, three from the Housing Ombudsman and
one from the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman, in
accordance with the statutory duty of the monitoring officer under
Section 5 of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989.
3.        To recommend
that full Council, at its meeting on 11 February 2026
resolves:
 
(a)
      To note any
recommendations arising from the Executive meeting on 29 January
2026.
(b)
      to note the
findings of maladministration and service failure in four
determinations received by Guildford Borough Council during the
2024–25 financial year, three from the Housing Ombudsman and
one from the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman, in
accordance with the statutory duty of the monitoring officer under
Section 5 of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989;
and
(c)
      In
consideration of these findings to consider making any further
recommendations to the Joint Leadership Team.
 
Reason:
To ensure that Members are
aware of the outcome of complaints submitted to the LGSCO and the
HO, and the actions taken in response to any findings of fault or
maladministration.
