To replace Parks & Street scene hand held
and pedestrian grounds maintenance machinery. This has gone out to
tender and a winning bidder has been chosen based on cost.

Reasons for the decision

Existing machines need replacing due to their
age. It will become expensive to service and maintain them if they
are not replaced. We have increased buying power by purchasing in
bulk and get cheaper prices.
We part exchange our old machines and get a better price for kit
that is not too old and is in a serviceable condition.

Alternative options considered

Keep existing kit - Rejected as service and
repair costs are increasing. Age of equipment is increasing the
vibration levels exposing operators to increased hand arm vibration
levels.
