To appoint Montagu Evans, via a direct award
under the Crown Commercial Services framework, to act as the
Council's commercial advisor in connection with the potential
disposal of a Council asset.

Reasons for the decision

The Council is currently in discussions
regarding a potential transaction involving one of its land assets.
To support this process, the Council proposes to appoint an
experienced commercial advisor to assist with the transaction and
to guide the Council through any negotiation process.
It is proposed that a direct award is made to Montagu Evans via the
CCS Framework. The Contract value has been negotiated between the
parties following an initial proposal from Montagu Evans, with fee
linked to how far the potential transaction progresses.

Alternative options considered

The Council could undertake a full procurement
exercise to secure the professional expertise required to support
this matter. However, due to the time-sensitive nature of the
transaction, this option has been discounted.
