This Land was transferred to the Council in
July 2013 for £1. The covenants on the land state that it
must only be used as an extension to the garden of 35 Cumberland
Avenue, and must only be transferred at the same time as a transfer
of 35 Cumberland Avenue takes place. The land has never been
incorporated into the garden of 35 Cumberland Avenue and is not
maintained. The owner of the property and land which abuts this
would like to purchase it.
Crest Nicholson, the beneficiaries of the covenants were approached
to remove the said covenants. They agreed and on 26 January 2026
the deed of release was completed which will enable the Council to
sell the land.
Reasons for the decision
The Land is not otherwise being used by the
Council, and its disposal will not have any impact on Council Land.
The valuation stated
The land is not capable of being added to any other garden, and has
a nominal value of (One Pound)
