Purpose
To agree a reduction in commuted sum payment payable by Guildford Borough Council to Surrey County Council of £347,291.29.
Decision
Enter into the Deed of Variation relating to the Section 38 for Ash Road Bridge (now known as Chester Bridge).
Reasons for the decision
The Deed of Variation will enable the adoption of Chester Bridge by Surrey County Council.
Alternative options considered
OPTION 2: The Council could decide not to enter into the Deed of Variation to the Section 38. However, this will mean that Chester Bridge will remain unadopted and responsibility for its maintenance will continue with Guildford Borough Council.
