About

The Health and Wellbeing Board is a strategic, multi-agency partnership board, carrying out duties conferred by the Health and Care Act (2022) and the National Health Service Act (2006).   It brings together the Local Authority, the City and Hackney Health and Care Board, Healthwatch Hackney, and other partners in order to improve the commissioning of health and social care services.    Alongside its duty to improve commissioning, the Board also has responsibility for promoting integration between health and social care, and aims to improve the health and wellbeing of local people and tackle health inequalities.   The Board enables senior stakeholders and local representatives to strategically plan the commissioning of the right health and social care services for adults and children in Hackney, highlighting the most cost-effective ways to enable Hackney residents to live longer, healthier, safer, happier lives.   Details regarding the functions and establishment of the Board can be found in the Council’s Constitution: https://hackney.gov.uk/council-constitution
