RESOLVED:
 
The adoption of the
Additional Needs to Thrive Housing Policy was agreed.
 
REASONS FOR DECISION
 
Policy has been subject to public consultation
and is broadly supported.
 
The policy provides a framework for housing
services to transform our offer to residents who have a range of
additional needs, ensuring equality of access and outcome
regardless of any barriers.
 
The policy will support the housing service to
ensure compliance with a range of regulatory requirements including
by the Regulator of Social Housing and the Housing Ombudsman.
 
DETAILS OF ALTERNATIVE OPTIONS CONSIDERED AND
REJECTED
 
Do nothing. To carry on without a policy would
leave the council open to legal challenge, reputational risk, and
importantly, risks to our residents. This is considered
unacceptable.
