1. To approve spend of £62,000 of
2025/26 Bus Grant (BSIP) capital funding for the remaining elements
of the Gosport TravelSafe Partnership pilot project that are yet to
be delivered, which include one-off spend relating to
patrol bike purchase, lamp column strengthening and some new
columns for CCTV camera sites and improving lighting within a
number of bus shelters in less well illuminated locations in
Gosport.
2. To approve spend of £398,000 of 2025/26 Bus Grant (BSIP)
revenue funding for the Gosport TravelSafe Partnership pilot
project, which will be used to cover operational and equipment
costs for a 12 month period
relating to monitoring of new CCTV camera sites and provision of
targeted uniformed Community Warden patrols of bus corridors within
the Gosport area to improve personal safety and security for bus
users by deterring
incidences of vandalism, criminal damage and anti-social behaviour
on the bus network and carrying out criminal enforcement duties for
the powers these roles will carry.
