That a traffic order be implemented under the
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (RTRA), the effects of which will
be, for an experimental period of 18 months to suspend / amend
existing parking places and waiting restrictions on specified
lengths of Clifton Terrace. To accommodate a new cycle lane,
residents permit parking spaces will be suspended on the western
side of Clifton Terrace just north of its junction with Romsey Road
for an approximate distance of 40 metres for an experimental period
of 18 months. These spaces will be relocated to the eastern side of
Clifton Terrace just south of Upper High Street.
The Order provides that in pursuance of section 10(2) of the Act,
the specified officer may, if it appears essential in the interests
of the expeditious, convenient and safe movement of traffic on the
highway or for preserving or improving the amenities of the area
through which any road affected by the Order runs, modify or
suspend the Order or any of its provisions.
