Purpose

The purpose of this report is to seek Cabinet approval of Hampshire County Council's Climate Change Strategy 2026-2028. The report sets out how the proposed strategy builds on progress achieved under the Climate Change Strategy 2020-2025, responds to the recommendations of the Climate Change Member Task and Finish Group, and supports delivery of the County Council's Strategic Plan, Your Hampshire, today and for tomorrow.

This report should be considered alongside the accompanying Climate Change Annual Report and the report of the Climate Change Member Task and Finish Group. Together, these reports provide a coherent overview of progress achieved since 2020, lessons learned through Member review and scrutiny, and the proposed strategic direction for climate action during the remainder of Hampshire County Council's lifetime.
