RESOLVED that the Leader approved the award of contracts for the provision of SIA accredited security services and non SIA stewarding services to support the delivery of the Town Show be awarded for the value of £237,327 excluding VAT to GSS Ltd.

Reasons for the decision

To support the delivery of the council’s corporate mission to ‘transform our council’ and deliver a "landmark programme of events”.

To enable the council to enter into a formal contract to provide SIA accredited security services, and non SIA general stewarding services for the Harlow Town Show 2026.

Alternative options considered

No alternative options have been considered – provision of security as part of an event is a requirement under purple guide.
