RESOLVED that a contract is awarded to HTS (Property & Environment) Limited in the sum of £149,788.95 for the replacement of the flat roof and associated works at Ward Hatch.

Reasons for the decision

To support the delivery of the council’s corporate mission to ‘Rebuild our town’ and “Successfully deliver our record £93 million Non-housing Capital Programme”.

To support the delivery of the council’s, neighborhood improvement and hatch upgrades programmes.

To facilitate the delivery of essential works at Ward Hatch to reduce recurring repairs and protect the council’s property asset.

Alternative options considered

No comparable alternative options have been identified that would provide an equivalent outcome or represent better value for money.

The option of taking no action or continuing to maintain the existing building fabric through ongoing reactive repairs, isn’t considered a viable or cost-effective solution.

Such an approach wouldn’t address the underlying condition defects and could result in continued deterioration of the building fabric, increased maintenance requirements and costs, and a greater risk of more extensive remedial works being required in the future.
