The Standards Committee is responsible for promoting and maintaining high standards of conduct for councillors within Hart District Council. It advises on the adoption and revision of the council's code of conduct, and monitors its effectiveness against best practice and legal changes. While many specific standards issues are handled by the Council's Monitoring Officer, the committee oversees the overall framework for ethical behaviour, ensuring councillors adhere to established principles.
