Licensing Committee

The Licensing Committee is responsible for the Council's licensing functions, which include overseeing public entertainment, taxis, cinemas, animal welfare, pubs and clubs, betting and gaming, and caravan sites. It also handles bylaws and health and safety inspection duties. Most specific licensing matters for premises and personal licences are delegated to a Licensing Sub Committee. The Committee's full terms of reference are detailed in the Council's Constitution. Members of the public can attend meetings and may speak on agenda items if they register their request and provide a summary of their text at least 48 hours in advance.
