Decision

RESOLVED that
Cabinet:

1.1             
 approved
the appointment of Tenderer A as the contractor for the Local Plan
Support commission.

1.2             
 approved
The signing of the contract between the Council and Tenderer A is
delegated to the Deputy Chief Executive.

 

Reasons for
decision
 
Contract Procurement Rules and related
expenditure and authorisation thresholds indicate that
authorisation to award contracts over £1,000,000 is
undertaken by Cabinet. The contract price from the successful
tenderer is marginally in excess of this threshold and as detailed
in Appendix 1.
 
The appointment of the bidder will
significantly increase resources to progress the local plan at
pace.
 
 Alternative Options
Considered
 
The main alternative option relates to choosing
not to approve the appointment of Tenderer A for this commission.
This would still leave the Council with the need to progress the
local plan and potentially tender and recommission in part or full.
This would have a significant impact on the timeframe for delivery
of the local plan.
