Decision
RESOLVED that Cabinet
recommended to Council:
I. To Adopt the updated
approach to CIL spending and the attached documents.
II. To Agree that the
Council’s website is amended to set out the updated approach
and provided further information to assist bidders.
III. Agree that non-material
changes to the documents, the website and spend framework as a
whole are able to be made by officers in conjunction with the
Cabinet Member for Planning, Infrastructure &
Transport.
Reasons for
decision
The Council is responsible for making decisions
on the allocation of funding raised by the Community Infrastructure
Levy. Having guidance as well as a framework that is updated to
reflect the needs of the borough is important to ensure that CIL
monies are being allocated efficiently.
Alternative Options
Considered
The Cabinet could have decided not to recommend
to Council the updated CIL process and guidance are adopted. This
would have resulted in uncertainty regarding the process and the
continuation of the framework currently in place.
