The Children, Families, Health & Care Select Committee provides overview and scrutiny for the Cabinet Member portfolio and service areas related to children's services, adult social care, public health, and residents' services.
This statutory committee reviews and scrutinises local health priorities and inequalities, working with the Health & Wellbeing Board and Local Healthwatch. It also responds to NHS consultations. Relevant NHS bodies and health service providers have a duty to provide information and attend meetings when required for the committee's health scrutiny functions.
The committee also oversees the Council's corporate parenting responsibilities through a dedicated panel.
