Decision

To approve the award of a contract for remedial works to Warminghurst Church wall (‘the contract’) to the contractor identified and at the cost outlined in the exempt appendix.

To finalise the terms and conditions of, and to approve the entering into of, the contract.

Reasons for the decision

The Council is required under section 215(3) of the Local Government Act 1972 to maintain the churchyard and to keep the wall in good repair.

Alternative options considered

The alternative course of action is not to undertake the works. This was rejected because the wall is a health and safety issue and the Council is required to keep it in good repair.
