Community Infrastructure Levy Delegation

ALTERNATIVE OPTIONS CONSIDERED BUT REJECTED AS IDENTIFIED IN THE REPORT

Community Infrastructure Levy Budget Allocations

Not to recommend that Full Council approves the inclusion of the CIL funding in the Council’s capital programme for 2027/28 and delegates authority to the Director of Resources and/or Section 151 Officer to profile this across future financial years if required. This course of action was rejected as it would mean that the funding could not be lawfully released, which would leave the chosen infrastructure below the standard required for sufficient delivery of services.

Community Infrastructure Levy Delegation

Not to recommend that Full Council delegates authority to the Director of Resources and/or Section 151 Officer to make in-year changes to the Council’s budget to facilitate any future CIL funding allocations. This course of action was rejected as it would not provide flexibility to enable CIL funds to be allocated and released in between the setting of budgets.
