About
The Audit and Governance Committee provides independent assurance on the Council's risk management, control environment, and financial and non-financial performance. It scrutinises these areas to assess their impact on the Council's risk exposure and oversees the financial reporting process.
The committee also handles constitutional matters, making recommendations to the Council. It promotes high standards of conduct among councillors and acts as the Council's Standards Committee, dealing with complaints about members breaching the Code of Conduct after initial investigations by the Monitoring Officer.
