Apologies noted on behalf of Councillor Sue
Sampson, and on behalf of Councillor Peter Thompson who had a
standing invitation to attend Cabinet in his capacity as the Leader
of the Conservative Group.
Declarations of interest were recorded by
Councillor Shivraj Grewal, who had received correspondence on
motorbikes in relation to the Parking Strategy item and indicated
that he would address this in his introduction to the
item. Councillor Salman Shaheen had
also received correspondence in relation to the Parking
Strategy.
Councillor Katherine Dunne reported that she
had received correspondence on e-bikes.
She added for the record that she was a member of the London
Cycling Campaign, although she pointed out that she did not
consider this a conflict of interest.
The Leader invited Councillor Sayyar Raza,
Chair of Overview and Scrutiny Committee with a standing invitation
to attend Cabinet, to address the meeting. Councillor Raza informed Cabinet that the Scrutiny
Annual Report would be brought before Borough Council on 23 July
2024. He urged members to review the
report, which he said set out the work of both the scrutiny panels
and Overview and Scrutiny Committee.
