Full council record
Purpose
The Council has a number of modular homes at
Armitage Place (Whitton Church Lane), Ipswich, which are used for
temporary accommodation.
Following a fire at one of the homes, the
Council has decided to appoint Volumetric to carry out the
necessary remedial works so the home can be used again as soon as
practicably possible.
Volumetric have provided a quotation and a
decision has been taken to award a contract in the sum of
£17,400 plus VAT. The cost of this work is covered by the
Council’s insurance, who has assessed the incident.
This decision was made as an exemption from
the market testing requirement of the Council’s Contract
Standing Orders on the basis that the modular homes were originally
supplied as a proprietary product from the Hill Group/Volumetric
and only they have access to all of the relevant parts and
materials required.
Decision
To award the contract to Volumetric.
Reason:
To carry out the remedial works so the home
can be used as soon as possible.
