Purpose
There is a requirement for a postal service
dispatch provider with the appropriate product range, competitive
pricing and customer service to deliver IBC post.
The decision is to utilise The Crown
Commercial Services Framework model (RM6017) Lot 3: ‘For
collection and delivery of letters, large letters, and
parcels’.
There are eight suppliers on the framework,
however there is a limited market base for all elements of the
specification that need consideration. As such a direct award has
been made for one year (12 months) to Royal Mail.
Royal Mail were selected as the most
cost-efficient provider that could meet the specification criteria.
The remaining suppliers were unable to provide all of the
requirements and/or offered prices higher than Royal Mail.
A standard set of pre-defined terms and
conditions apply to all call-off contracts awarded against the
framework.
The total value for the contract is
£96,636.50.
Decision
To make a direct award to Royal Mail.
Reason:
Royal Mail were selected as the most
cost-efficient provider that could meet the specification criteria.
The remaining suppliers were unable to provide all of the
requirements and/or offered prices higher than Royal Mail.
