Purpose

Ipswich Borough Council is working with Gecko
Theatre Company (a locally based Arts Council National Portfolio
Organisation) to create a new build structure for them to use as
their headquarters and rehearsal space.
 
Funding from Arts Council England has been
secured for the project and Ipswich Borough Council now requires
the services of a Quantity Surveyor to work with the design team to
provide cost management services throughout the project
delivery.
 
Following an open tender procurement process
through the Suffolk Sourcing e-sourcing system, 11 bids were
received.
 
The most economically advantageous tender was
received from ProQS for the value of £19,872.00 (excl.
VAT).
 
The appointment cost will be fully covered by
existing capital budgets.
The contract has been placed and issued under
contract number IBC17235.

Decision

To award the contract to ProQS.
 
Reason:
To enable works to proceed within given
timescales.
