Purpose

The Council is retendering its contract for
provision of CCTV equipment, servicing maintenance and repairs,
including new equipment and installation.
 
In accordance with Contract Standing Orders,
the decision was made to extend the CCTV contract with Videcom until 31 May 2024 as this is an existing
contract and is within the terms and value agreed by Executive.
This extension has a value of under £10k and will allow time
for a full procurement process and new contract award.
 
The CCTV network and equipment is an important
element in maintaining safety and security around the town,
deterring and detecting criminal
activity and providing protection for Council property. Suitable,
compliant and alternative suppliers are
not available until the tender completes.

Decision

To extend the CCTV contract with Videcom until
31 May 2024 as this is an existing contract and is within the terms
and value agreed by Executive.

To allow time for a full procurement process
and new contract award
