Purpose

Environmental Protection require a contractor
to supply, test and analyse the network of diffusion tubes within
the borough, to meet the legal duty on the Council to review the
air quality within the local area under the Environment Act
1995.
 
A 60-month contract has been setup to provide
this service from 1st January 2024.
 
The value of the contract is estimated to be
£3,835.20 a year utilising available budget for the financial
year.

Decision

To agree the contract with SOCOTEC UK for a
60-month period.
 
Reason:
to supply, test and analyse the network of
diffusion tubes within the borough, to meet the legal duty on the
Council to review the air quality within the local area under the
Environment Act 1995. This is a specialist service requiring access
to an accredited laboratory and specific equipment which must
meet technical standards.
