Purpose

Environmental Protection require a contractor
to carry out the removal and disposal of abandoned vehicles within
the borough, to meet the legal duty on the Council under the Refuse
Disposal (Amenity) Act 1978 and the Clean Neighbourhood and
Environment Act 2005.
 
A contract has been in place for Autobreak
(Colchester) Ltd to provide this service since 7th January 2021.
The contract has one 12-month extension period available upon
agreement of both parties. The extension
covering the period of 1st December 2023 to
30th November 2024. The contract extension has been agreed as
existing, with the same pricing schedule.
 
The value of the contract extension is
estimated to be £6,500 a year utilising available budget for
the financial year.

Decision

To extend the existing contrack with Autobreak
(Colchester) Ltd for 12 months.
