Purpose

The Council has been awarded grant funding via
the Suffolk Police and Crime Commissioner under the Safer Streets 5
Scheme, with support funding from local partners including Suffolk
County Council.
 
Applications and action plans were developed
in collaboration with the Police & Crime Commissioner Office,
Suffolk Police, Suffolk County Council and Ipswich Central when
applying for the funds.
 
A decision has been made to award a contract
to promote independent crime reporting methods in specified areas
through Crimestoppers Zones. The value of the contract is
£18,000. The contract will run from December 2023 to March
2024.

Decision

To exempt the decision from market testing
under Contract Standing Orders, under paragraph 3.10.2 as the
service required can only be supplied by a single supplier.
 
Reason:
The work provided through the contract
contributes to a wider collaborative delivery plan relying on
shared contribution of actions to achieve successful outcomes.
Should the exemption not be granted project delivery would be
impaired.
