December 1, 2023 Officer Decision (Officer) Approved View on council websiteFull council record
Purpose
Ipswich Borough Council are the owners of four
redundant churches (St Clements, St Lawrence, St Peters and St Stephens) which are leased to the
Ipswich Historic Churches Trust for preservation and maintenance
for the public benefit. A set of quinquennial inspections across
the churches has identified a number of
high priorities works which require attention to ensure the ongoing
safe usage of the churches.
Due to the scale of the works required, IBC
require the services of a conservation accredited architect to
specify the works required and assist in managing the contractors
to carry out the required works.
Following an open tender procurement process
through the Suffolk Sourcing e-sourcing system, 3 bids were
received.
The most economically advantageous tender was
received from Nicholas Jacob Architects for the value of
£28,800.00 (excl. VAT).
The appointment cost will be fully covered by
existing capital budgets.
Decision
To award the contract to Nicholas Jacob
Architects.
Reason:
To enable works to proceed within given
timescales.
