Purpose

Ipswich Borough Council have been granted
funds to deliver healthy behaviour services by Suffolk County
Council. These services are delivered in partnership with the
Suffolk District and Borough Councils. The
services available through this grant are
entitled Feel Good Suffolk.
 
Under the Feel Good Suffolk Service, behaviour
change, smoking cessation, adult weight management and physical
activity interventions are made available for residents to access
to support their health and wellbeing in their locality.
 
To support the delivery of Feel Good Suffolk
and meet the intended outcomes for reducing the number of smokers
in Ipswich, further to the behaviour support offered through the
service, an intervention specifically
to support individuals in Ipswich hoping to
stop smoking services is required to provide a well-rounded
offer.
 
Following an invitation to tender procurement
process, using Suffolk e-sourcing, Contracts Finder and
FaTS, one quotation was received to
supply 355 places on an evidence-based, digital stop smoking
intervention. The tender was assessed and evaluated by Officers and
a decision was made to award the contract to Allen Carr.

Decision

To award the contract to Allen Carr at a value
of £24,999.00.
 
Reason:
To ensure a sufficient offer to support people
to stop smoking is available in Ipswich, that meets the outcomes of
the Healthy Behaviours grant supplied to Ipswich Borough
Council.
