Purpose

Sourcing Ipswich Borough Council’s
landscaping plants for various schemes including – Chantry
Park’s parterre, Highways sites, Housing sites, Holywells Park maze, Christchurch Park Poppy and
the Garden Suburb play area gardens.
 
A procurement exercise has been undertaken by
the Parks Team with Officers from the Council’s Procurement
team for the purchase and supply of landscaping plants.
 
Two bids were submitted, and a validation
process was carried out by officers from the Council’s Parks
& Procurement teams and the bid submitted by Palmstead was found to demonstrate value for money
and quality for the many individual species required.
 
The planting will be carried out by the
Council’s Wildlife Rangers & Grounds Maintenance
Teams.
