Purpose

The Council owns and operates a number of
public car parks in Ipswich, including Crown Car Park, Charles
Street, Ipswich IP1 3HS.
 
The operating hours of Crown Car Park on a
Monday are 08:00-18:30. Due to Monday 28th August being
a Bank Holiday, previously Bank Holidays that have fallen on a
Monday have been operating on Sunday hours of 08:30-18:00. The
Council decided to keep the 28th August as a normal operating hours
of a Monday, to investigate if there was a need going forward to
make
this permanent and to determine if there was a
need for car park usage.
 
The main alternative would be to not change
the operating hours.

Decision

To utilise the powers within the Ipswich
Borough Council (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 2022 to change
the operating hours of Crown Car Park on Monday 28th August 2023
(Bank Holiday) to normal Monday operating hours.
 
Reason:
To investigate if there was a need going
forward to make the change in opening hours permenant.
