Purpose

The Council owns and operates a number of
public car parks in Ipswich, including Elm Street Car Park, Elm
Street, Ipswich IP1 2AP.
 
The Council needs to carry out some essential
drainage works clearance to resolve an ongoing drainage issue.
 
The car park will need to be closed in full on
Tuesday 27th June 2023 for the works to take place.
 
The main alternative would be to not close the
car park and for the remedy works to not take place to resolve the
drainage issue.

Decision

To utilise the powers within the Ipswich
Borough Council (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 2022 to close Elm
Street car park on Tuesday 27th June 2023.
 
Reason:
To enable essential drainage works to take
place.
