Full council record

Purpose

Following the failure of the AC systems at IP
City, one of the biggest units (Unit 15) required temporary cooling
in order for the tenant to remain in situ to carry out their
work.

This unit suffers particularly from thermal
gains due to its orientation within the building, has limited
openable windows and high usage from people and equipment due to
the nature of the works required.

Lack of cooling in this space has made it
unsuitable for people to continue work and has affected the
productivity of the tenant and relationship with the council.

Following an open procurement for temporary
cooling, Pitkin & Ruddock has had a successful bid for
temporary cooling for the required time frame.

Decision

To award the small works agreement contract to
Pitkin & Ruddock for temporary cooling for Unit 15 at IP City
at a total of £22,952.00.

Reason:
Lack of cooling in the space making it
unsuitable for tenants to continue work.
