Purpose

Charges for Sport and Leisure are levied for
the use of both wet and dry council facilities. Charges at other
swimming pools and sports centres are benchmarked and the impact of
previous increases to Ipswich charges measured in terms of take up
of memberships and pay as you go usage. Costs of providing sport
and leisure services have continued to rise with inflationary
increases in utilities and essential supplies impacting along with
nationally agreed staff pay awards.

Decision

To increase fees and charges. The effective
date of implementation will be 1st November 2024.
 
Reason:
To reduce the level of subsidy the council
provides to the service.
