Decision

Recommendations:

1. 1 Approve the joint procurement strategy with Camden Council for Short Breaks for

disabled children and young people, in line with duties under Section 2 Children

Act 1989, Breaks for Carers of Disabled Children Regulations 2011, and the

Children and Families Act 2014.

1. 2 To approve the procurement strategy for a flexible framework under the light touch regime, for a period of 96 months with an estimated total value for Islington

Council, of no more than £13,600,000 based on an annual maximum of  £1,700,000 over the 8-year framework period. The council reserves the right to reopen the framework during its lifetime at periods it deems necessary. 

1. 3 Delegate authority at the commencement of the framework and at any subsequent intervals that the framework is re-opened for new entrants to the Corporate Director of Children’s Services, following consultation with the Executive Member for Children, Young People and Families. Authority to award call-off contracts under the framework will sit with the relevant service leads in line with the Council’s scheme of delegation.
