Purpose
The Council collects Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) mainly from residential developments in the Borough. A proportion (15%) of this money is set aside as Neighbourhood Community Infrastructure Levy (NCIL) which must be spent in consultation with the local communities. There is a total of £3.18 million (as of January 2026) of NCIL collected from developments in the Borough.
A six-week NCIL application period opened from 28 January until 11 March 2026. During this period local communities could submit applications for projects to be funded through NCIL.
