About
The Council is the main decision-making body for Kirklees, comprising all 69 elected members and chaired by the Mayor. It sets the council's overall policy direction and approves the annual budget. These meetings also serve as a forum for holding the Council Leader and the Executive to account, with members able to question them on their responsibilities and council services.
