Full council record
Purpose
Kirklees Council worked with
Crown Commercial Services and several other public sector
organisations to award a framework for high volume mail
services.
The NFC185 Postal
Services Aggregation has now been awarded and the council will
buy from this as the current contract ends 7 February
2025.
The new contract locks in our
current unit price per mail item at a time when mail prices
continue to surge as the market shrinks.
The council sent over 1.4
million mail items in prepaid envelopes in 2022/23 costing over
£616k. We are expecting this volume to drop in year and in
subsequent years as we switch to digital fulfilment of as many
letters, bills and reminders as possible.
Content
The decision is to award the
contract to the winner of the Crown Commercial Services NFC185
Postal Services Aggregation in order to maintain our price per
unit.
This was the most cost
effective solution to reprocure mail services whilst we are driving
to reduce our volumes by 65%
