Purpose

In exceptional cases and after a range of
alternative options have been considered within the context of the
legislation, in the best interests of the child and family whilst
not disadvantaging other children and families.
 
A minimum of two officers are always involved
in the decision making.
 
There is always a discussion with the
individual school.
