Purpose

2024 Item 19 Resolution 2 “That the Local Plan Timetable be
adopted and published on the council’s
website”.
 
The Levelling Up and
Regeneration Act 2023 is introducing new plan-making requirements  set out at
Schedule 7 of the Act. Part of this is the production of
a 
‘Local Plan Timetable’ (LPT) which will replace
the existing requirement to produce a ‘Local Development
Scheme’.
 
The proposed content for a LPT
is set out at Schedule 7 (15B (2)) and is an extended content of
the council’s existing LDS. However, Schedule 7 of the act
has not been brought into effect yet, consequently we are re-naming
and publishing the LPT as a Local Development Scheme in accordance
with the current legislation (Section 15 of the Planning and
Compulsory Purchase Act 2004).
 
The changes made are to the
title of the document, all references to LPT changed to LDS and the
addition of a new paragraph at the beginning of the document
stating, “This document is a Local Development Scheme
(LDS) for the purposes of Section 15 of the Planning and Compulsory
Purchase Act 2004 and is being processed in accordance with that
Act.”
