Purpose

To raise the prices of the
council’s bulky waste collection service inline with other local authorities within West
Yorkshire to ensure further cost recovery which has increased due
to the introduction of legislation relating to Persistent Organic
Pollutants. No other alternative options were
considered.

The decision was made to
change the bulky waste collection pricing structure to a bulk
ordering system. Items will now cost:

per bulky waste item

per small electrical item

per 5 bags of garden waste

£30
per sofa, armchair or mattress
 
The cost of large white goods,
as identified on the Kirklees Council website, will rise to
£30 per item.
