Purpose

This is a procurement exercise to renew the existing framework for procurement of asbestos consultancy services used by Corporate Landlord & Capital and Homes & Neighbourhoods Compliance teams within Kirklees Council, to ensure the Local Authority remains compliant with the current legislation Control of Asbestos Regs 2012. This framework has been in place since 2010 and is utilised to ensure quality of services provided and value for money for asbestos consultancy services for the Council.

There are no alternative options.

The proposed contract will be awarded through on a 2 + 1 + 1 year basis. The total contract value is estimated to be £800k - £1 mil.

Decision

The decision is to award a contract via competitive tender to the whole market.

The procurement is to ensure Kirklees Council remains compliant with Control of Asbestos Regs 2012, ensuring that asbestos consultancy services the Council commissions demonstrate both quality of services received and value for money.
