Purpose

The purpose of this report is to seek approval, in accordance with Contract Procedure Rule 7.7.5 for the award of Structec (NW) Limited contract for 268. Dragon Lane, Whiston L35 3QZ.

The reason for the decision is that a compliant procurement exercise has been undertaken in accordance with Contract Procedure Rule 7 , and the winning bidder has been identified as providing the most economically advantageous offer to the Council.

Decision

That, in accordance with Contract Procedure Rule 7.7.5 , a contract be awarded to Structec (NW) Limited for 268. Dragon Lane, Whiston L35 3QZ.

(ii) That the Procurement / Legal Team be authorised to make the necessary arrangements for the issue of the relevant contract documentation.

Alternative options considered

Do Nothing: This option was considered and rejected due to the fact that we would not be meeting both the short term and long term needs of the disabled person, which may result in increased costs of care package for the disabled person.

Deliver in house: This option was considered and rejected as the local authority does not have this option as there are no internal direct works.
