Purpose
Utilising additional permanent funding that
has been made available, to implement various changes to the Human
Resources (Workforce Development) staffing structure, aimed at
increasing capacity within the service to support the delivery of
the Workforce Sufficiency Strategy.
Decision
To support the continued, effective delivery
of the Council’s Workforce Sufficiency Strategy, the
Assistant Executive Director (Corporate Support) is recommended to
approve the recommendations set out in section 2 of this
report.
Alternative options considered
There is no capacity to fulfil this work using
existing HR staffing resources, little or no opportunity to
undertake the work, collaboratively, using other local authority
resources and due to the long-term, strategic nature of the work,
no realistic prospect of wholly temporary resources (i.e.,
temporary/interim/agency cover) being used to undertake the work in
question. Additional capacity is required, and this has been
recognised and agreed to during the service and budget setting
process.
