Purpose

The post is essential for the development of a sustainable approach to Hardship within the Council following our experience supporting residents through the Covid pandemic and the cost-of-living crisis.

Decision

To establish post of Hardship Officer (Grade M) with immediate effect.

Alternative options considered

There is no current bespoke capacity within the Council around this agenda. Given the need to support the community on an ongoing basis, a lack of capacity is not a sustainable position.
